Error 80070002 updating windows system
Since I don't get my notification and don't see any updates on Windows Update I'm trying to force the upgrade. I also tried updating via the "Media Creation Tool" from Microsoft's website.I read on reddit that you can go to the registry and add . It downloads everything, asks me what to save, then it says it wants to make sure I have enough space. However, the Error 0x80070002 may be an ongoing issue if the downloaded update lacks for crucial files.
Would there be more detail in event viewer or a log for it?
If you receive Windows Update error 80070002 while checking for updates, you need to remove the temporary update files that Windows uses to identify updates for your computer.
Most of the time, users end up having to perform the update again (and that causes issues because of faulty updates) when they don’t have fully charged batteries.
Error code 0x80070002 or 0x80070003 is an issue with Windows Update which fails to install, and it might even give a message saying that the BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) has stopped which will lead you to believe that it is an issue with the BITS. You might get this issue when you’re trying to install some Windows 10 updates, such as KB3200970, as well as a number of others.
You might even try to download them manually and install them that way, but that will also fail.
